Nampho (Western Part)
It is a tourist region in and around Nampho, a port city on the lower reaches of Taedong River. There are many tourist attractions including Wau Island and other scenic spots, the Three Tombs of Kangso, West Sea Barrage and factories and farms.
The famous Kangso and Sindoksan mineral waters originate from this region.
The area is a habitat for a wide variety of flora including mountain and tideland plants. In the forests there are wild boars, roe deers, foxes and other animals, and in the lowlands and parks many pheasants, woodpeckers and larks. A lot of migratory birds such as herons and white herons are found in Chongsan and other fields, tidelands and the lower reaches of the Taedong.
